Jalen Hurts & The Eagles Secure The Top Seed in NFC

January 09, 2023

Jalen Hurts

With a 22-16 win over the New York Giants, the Eagles finished the 2022 season with a 14-3 record. The Eagles set a new high for regular-season victories, passing their mark set in 2004 and again in 2017, the team made it to the Super Bowl in each of those campaigns. Jalen Hurts was questionable heading into Sunday's game with a sprained throwing shoulder but Head Coach Nick Sirianni said "We didn't feel like there was more risk [of further injury] but I know he was hurting, and he was hurting bad." Jalen Hurts joined Randall Cunningham as the second Eagles player in franchise history to reach 3,500 passing yards and 500 rushing yards in a season. As the number one seed, Jalen Hurts will have time to rest his shoulder as the team enjoys a bye week during the Wild Card round of the NFL Playoffs.
