There's no denying the surging popularity of Philadelphia Eagles' quarterback, Jalen Hurts. His name has become a buzzword in sports circles throughout the nation, and the numbers speak for themselves.
In the 2023 season, Hurts' jersey clinched the No. 3 spot for best-selling jerseys from leading sports apparel retailer, Lids. Further emphasizing his widespread popularity, Hurts' jersey took the crown for the best-selling jersey in as many as 13 different states – an achievement that surpassed all players across the board.
While Hurts' overall jersey sales were impressive, they fell just short of Dallas Cowboys linebacker, Micah Parsons (ranking No. 1), and Kansas City Chiefs quarterback, Patrick Mahomes, who secured the No. 2 spot.
The 2023 season was a personal high for Hurts, as he achieved career highs in both passing and rushing touchdowns. However, the season wasn't without its pitfalls. Hurts, unfortunately, led the NFC with a total of 20 turnovers.
The Eagles ended the year with a disappointing 1-6 record, bowing out of the Wild Card round of the playoffs with a 32–9 loss against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. As the team looks towards the 2024 season, there's no doubt they will be doing some soul-searching to find ways to get back on track.
Despite the Eagles' struggles, Hurts’ performance and undeniable popularity have cemented his place in the hearts of fans and sports enthusiasts alike. As the team regroups for the 2024 season, all eyes will be on Hurts. Will he be able to take his game to the next level and help the Eagles soar once again? Only time will tell.
